All That ‘N Dim Sum
If good egg tarts are a sign of quality, then this was quality. All That 'N Dim Sum located in Rowland Heights serves a classic mix of dim sum, in a fast casual setting.
Review
There are many interesting asian restaurants in Rowland Heights. Today, I am furthering my dumpling journey and visiting All That 'N Dim Sum. This restaurant is a weird mix of fast causal, counter order, and full service. You order and pay for your entire meal at a counter. They then give you a receipt and ask you to wait outside for a table. Once there is a table available, they will seat you. Then you wait around for a bit longer before receiving your food. But some utensils and napkins are self service, but other things such as drinks and other sauces are full service.
Anyways, while here, I tired to get a collection of the generic dim sum items.
Shumai
Har Gow
Soup Dumplings
Sheet Noodles with Shrimp
BBQ Pork Buns
Spare Ribs
Baked BBQ Pork Buns
Egg Tarts
They also had a mango pudding on the menu, but they were out. Sad.
I think most items were pretty good. The shumai, har gow, soup dumplings, sheet noodles, and bbq pork buns were all great. Good quality dim sum. The spare ribs were super fatty, covered in oil, and still had bone chunks all over making it hard to eat. It was not that great. The baked BBQ bun was not that great either compared to the fluffy bbq bun, whose texture is so much better.
The egg tarts were fantastic. I think they were super well done. The doughy part of the tart was perfectly flakey, without being dry, and the egg tart was very flavorful and had an excellent custard jello firmness, without being a pudding. If good egg tarts are a sign of quality, then this was quality.
Overall, a good experience. I would be inclined to return, even for just the egg tarts, if I lived closer. Since I so infrequently visit Rowland Heights, I would be inclined to try one of the many other interning restaurants in the area.
